A steam valve application is very common in many of the industries ValveMan works in. In fact, the parent company of ValveMan was founded on steam applications. The first product Fred Welsford Sr., founder of the parent company to ValveMan, represented was a line of steam traps. ValveMan recently helped a prominent Fortune 100 pharmaceutical company based in Northern New Jersey build a valve for an on/off application on one of its steam lines.
The Fortune 100 company needed a 1-1/2″, 3 piece, carbon steel body
ball valve with NPT end connections. ValveMan specified a VMDM4600 that adhered to the customers specifications and was safe to use for their steam application. The company wanted the valve automated as well; so, ValveMan created the valve assembly with a spring return actuator and a NEMA 4 solenoid as well as a NEMA 4 limit switch with a SPDT mechanical switch.
The
custom valves were delivered in two weeks. With the quality of the service, product, professionalism, and delivery, the large company purchased – and continues to purchase – more of these valves for their steam applications.
